Café VoZo – was bleibt, von dem, was nicht geblieben ist

Before the University of Applied Arts moved to Vordere Zollamtstraße 7, Vienna’s largest refugee camp was located there from 2015 to 2016. During this time, Café VoZo was built and operated by refugees, students, and volunteers and quickly became the heart of the camp’s social life. I’d like to invite you to my constructed memory of a day in Café VoZo, where memory is a space that one can’t enter, but that seeps through the crack in the door. The smell of coffee and cake.
