The city shapes our everyday lives. Through personal day-to-day experiences, each individual creates his or her own knowledge of the city and of public space. This knowledge is influenced and defined by a variety of factors. Not everyone experiences day-to-day city life the same way, and rights to the city and the corresponding access are distributed differently. The class for site-specific art takes a look at the public places of individual everyday life and addresses questions of authority, possession, experience, and encounter.
