IMPROVISATION – Kunst aus dem Koffer

Ever since Duchamp’s “Boîte-en-valise,” art presentations in the form of boxes or suitcases have been an integral part of mobile exhibition concepts. The light-weightedness and collective possibilities of this form of object art led to a variety of works in the FLUXUS movement and can still be found in numerous projects today. The contribution “IMPROVISATION—Art out of a Suitcase” adds the possibilities of performance to a mobile pop-up exhibition out of a suitcase. In the form of improv kits, the containers become tool boxes for performative interventions.
