A meagre meadow with adjacent shrubbery at Oskar-Kokoschka-Platz, where yarrow, white heather snails, and a variety of insects live, forms the starting point for negotiating the interests of non-human organisms and taking them into account while designing public space. In the midst of the sixth great extinction and the climate catastrophe, we relate to the place and its biodiverse inhabitants in a new way, collect data in a citizen’s science project, and develop concrete approaches for the site as a biodiversity pilot area and beyond in an open process. A conversation on the meadow with municipal representatives and guests.
