Under the title “Sonic Sensibility,” the AIL program addresses sound in terms of both its material and relational nature and its social and political dimensions. Sound never exists in just one place; it permeates the body and space. As a result, an acoustic event is always a social experience. Sound is translated, mediated, and collectively negotiated.
