The characteristic feature of raku is the heating of the ceramic peaces to 1000°C in a short time and taking them out of the kiln when glowing. The enormous thermal shock causes the glaze layer cracks which are typical for the raku technique. The team of the ceramics studio demonstrates the technique of raku firing in the courtyard of the university at Oskar-Kokoschka-Platz 2.
