What do we expect from spaces that we enter? How does the way we navigate spaces reveal to ourselves and others the intersecting identities we inhabit—and how do we negotiate them simultaneously?  From a postcolonial perspective, third spaces are not geographically fixed: not a cafe, not a museum, not a library. Following Homi K. Bhabha, third spaces are conceptual, liminal – constantly becoming – and, thereby, in a state of hybridity. The space for this project is transitional, merging the geographic with the conceptual. This space breaks from institutionally imposed modes of movement and embodiment, seeking to stretch time in order to offer room for conflict, or a moment to pause, reflect and reconsider our positionalities. This space disputes usual processes of entering and exiting institutions – time is disrupted and reconfigured.
