For a long time, the pencil was a central tool in architectural communication. However, with the rise of digitalization, it has lost its significance, along with the irregular, vibrant, and tactile qualities that arise from the physical world and its materiality. The course from which the exhibition “Analog Algorithmic Aesthetics” emerged offered students the opportunity to (re)discover this potential and develop individual and unique forms of expression. Students learned generative programming and its physical implementation through the use of CNC drawing machines.
