Curatorial Talk with Collective עמל عمل AMAL

Talk and discussion with למעلمعAMAL, the Palestinian–Israeli collective who curated the exhibition the splinter on display at OKP-Schwanzer-Wing, first floor, Zwischentrakt, Seminar Room 10. The collective was selected to curate this exhibition in order to give the curatorial practice a social and political resonance rooted in the students themselves: since its organic formation by a group of students from the Bezalel Academy, the collective has operated along parallel channels. On the one hand, it has addressed the wider public through conferences, talks, cultural events, and study days; on the other, it has created spaces for critical and creative action, thought, and dialogue between Palestinian and Israeli students. The different fields of activity of למעلمعAMAL position the exhibition as an additional visual arena—one that demands familiarity with multiple layers of reality, layered voices, and a profound understanding that artistic creation cannot stand apart from the systems surrounding it.
