Methods & Practice

Please join us for the launch of “Methods & Practice”, a publication developed within the framework of the course “Methods and Practice” by Bouchra Khalili, and a workshop led by Thomas Geiger, at the Department of Artistic Strategies, University of Applied Arts Vienna, with contributions by Jurij Hartmann, Marcia Schmidt, and Noa Schaub. With and through this publication, we have investigated and experimented with the very notions at the core of Methods and Practice: what is a method, and how can it be materialized through practice? Guided by the theme of reproduction, we combined conceptual and hands-on approaches, crystallized in a single object: a hand scanner, both an extension of our hands and a tool of reproduction.
