Exhibition curated by the Palestinian–Israeli collective למעلمعAMAL, showcasing works of students and graduates of Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Al-Quds/Jerusalem. The collective’s members are also active in the student union of Bezalel as part of Standing Together, a Jewish-Palestinian movement struggling for equality, equity and Palestinian rights. The exhibition was born as a critical attempt to create a shared creative space, weaving connections between anti-war and anti-occupation positions through both local and global perspectives. The Palestinian and Israeli body of work by students and graduates expressing the need for an alternative discursive arena in which political statements can be formed. In days when thickening borders increasingly close-in on image and language, the exhibition insists on functioning as an act of cultural resistance, establishing a space for the existence of these marginalised voices. The exhibition is accompanied by three events: Thu, 2.7., 6 pm: Curatorial Talk with Collective עמל عمل AMAL Fri, 3.7., 2 pm: Political Agency of Art Students against Authoritarianism and War. Open Discussion with Artists and Activists Sat, 4.7., 1 pm: What is going on in Al-Quds/Jerusalem? Ethnic Cleansing and Non-Violent Resistance in Silwan neighborhood
