“I am the universal mother, ruler of all foods. I am revered and consumed in many forms; I am known in countless guises, infinitely malleable, and yet I prefer to be round.” Panis Mater depicts an abstract bakery, sculpted from Ytong stone; it evokes the atmosphere of a sacred space and invites us to pay homage to Panis Mater together. Together, we knead the dough and bake the loaf of the Mother of Bread, thereby becoming a part of her.
